Singles and doubles final on Sunday- as it happens

We've arrived to the last day of the tournament and there are only two things to decide...the singles and the doubles winner of the Gaz de France Grand Prix.

The first part of today's program is the singles final between 18 year old world No20 Alizé Cornet looking for her first ever Tour trophy and Slovenian Andreja Klepac also without a WTA victory but showed her strenght by beating 1st seed Ági Szávay in the second round.

Cornet and Klepac has never met before on court in singles but yesterday they played in the doubles semi final when Cornet and Husarova overcame the duo of Klepac and Stewart so the French has two matches today.

Alizé Cornet was finalist in Acapulco and Rome and reached the semi final in Amelia Island and Charleston this year.

Andreja Klepac has good memories of Budapest as she played her first Tour event here as a wild card player in 2004 and this year she reached her first semi final and her first final in Hungary's capital.

After suitable rest for Cornet comes the doubles final where there is one highly experienced player, called Janine Husarova. While the other three players have never won a Tour title, the Slovakian has 22 Tour trophy under her belt, was the 3rd best doubles player in 2003 and won the Tour Championships in 2002 with Elena Dementieva.

Husarova is one of those three players who could win the doubles trophy in Budapest twice (2001, 2006).

If Cornet and Husarova win in straight sets they will be the third duo in tournament's history to win the title without losing a set while if Henke and Olaru come out as a winner, they will be the fourth unseeded pair to do so.

12.30 Though it's more than two hours till matches start, the spectators are now gathering to have the best places in the stadium so that they could clearly see the finals, the aerobatics-show and the concert of one of the most popular Hungarian band the R-Go.

14.00 One hour till start, the weather is just like yesterday's, R-Go did the sound check.

Did you know that Alizé Cornet can be the second player who wins the tournament without losing a set? The only player who managed to do this is Anna Smashnova who won in 2005. The Izraelian lost only 12 games on her 5 matches (2,4 games/match) while Cornet lost 11 on her 3 matches so far (3,66 games/match)- Cornet's average can't be better than Smashnova's even if she wins 60 60 (her average would be 2,75)

14.48 About 2000 spectators are in the Center court which is probably the most in the finals so far.

14.58 Both player are on the court now, one minute til start.

15.08 Klepac shows a strong and brave performance and won Cornet's serve...the Slovenian leads 1-0.

Did you know that Andreja Klepac is the 8th unseeded player in the history of finals? The only unseeded who could win so far was Tathiana Garbin in 2000.

15.13 Klepac lost her serve after slipping away at Cornet's brak-point...1-1.

15.16 Another break from Klepac who now leads 2-1.

Did you know that there were only two French-Slovenian battles in singles Main Draws history so far? The result is 1-1.

15.24 Klepac couldn't hold her advantage, Cornet made it 2-2...

15.30 The first time that someone won her own service game...Cornet leads 3-2.

15.35 Klepac won her serve...3-3

15.40 Cornet made this game difficult for herself, lost her service game from 40-0 so Klepac leads 4-3 now.

Did you know that Alize Cornet could be the younges ever winner of our tournament with her 18 years? The younges so far is Jelena Jankovic who was 19 when she won the title in 2004.

15.45 Klpeac won her serve and leads 5-3 in the first set.

15.50 Though Cornet won her serve, Klepac is to serve for the first set.

15.58 The Slovenian couldn't win the set, Cornet broke her serve and it's 5-5 now.

15.58 Cornet leads 6-5 now it's Klepac's turn to save the set.

16.02 The set couldn't be more exciting...tie-break...

16.10 After a fantastic and high level tie-break where there were very little differences between the players Cornet won the first set 76(5).

Did you know that 9 from the 12 finals so far were won by the player who won the first set?

16.22 Cornet earned three break points and won the third so now she leads 1-0 in the second set.

16.29 A hard-fought game won by the Slovenian...1-1

16.35 Break from the French player who leads 2-1.

16.40 Cornet extended her lead to 3-1.

16.44 Klepac in trouble: lost her serve and Cornet leads 4-1.

16.48 Klepac is back...with a patient game she forced Cornet to make mistakes so it's 4-2.

16.50 Another break from Cornet means that the French leads 5-2 and serves for her first title.

16.55 No surprise...another break...but still 5-3 for Cornet.

16.58 After 2 hours of play Alize Cornet won the first ever title of her career and became the youngest winner of the tournament in Budapest.

The young French player has one more match today as she's interested in the doubles final as well despite that she had doubt she could play in the singles final even due to a little illness she felt in the morning.

17.55 The second match of the day, the doubles final has salso begun where Alize Cornet is there again partnering Janette Husarova against Vanessa Henke and Ioana Raluca Olaru.

18.50 The German/Romanian duo won the first set 76(5) and there's no sign of the good weather any more, the sky is cloudy and we hope the match doesn't have to be interrupted due to rain.

19.15 Cornet and Husarova won the second set 61, super tie break comes.

19.29 Cornet and Husarova won the super tie-break 10-6. Cornet now has her first title in doubles as well and became the third player in tournament's history who could win the tournament in singles and doubles as well, while Husarova is the only player who won the doubles title in Budapest three times.
