Arn, Peng, Castano and Chakvetadze advance

Four matches are already over from the first round of GDF SUEZ Grand Prix without surprise.

6th seeded Shuai Peng spent 71 minutes for defeating the youngest player of the main draw, Silvija Njiric (61 63), while 2005 finalist Catalina Castano won 60 63 against Slovakian Kristina Kucova.

"In the first set, I was playing well, which was good as this is my first match after my illness that forced me to skip the French Open as well as Wimbledon. In the second set, I rushed to finish games when I had break points but I made some mistakes and my opponent came back. I try to do my best at this tournament even without my coach who had to fly home. This is my first time in Budapest and I like it here. It's a really nice environment next to the river Danube."- said Shia Peng after ger match.

On center court Gréta Arn lost the first set against Darya Kustova from Belarus but the former semifinalist could improve her play and won by 36 60 63 and advanced into the second round where she will face 4th seeded Medina Garrigues or Olaru.

On the last singles match, Russian Anne Chakvetadze defeated Mariya Koryttseva 62 60.
