Bad day for Hungarians

There were four Hungarians in the first round of GDF SUEZ Grand Prix's qualifying first round but none of them could advance into the second round, while 1st seeded Pivovarova had an easy win.

Vanda Lukács was the first one to enter the center court this year and the Hungarian who played her first Tour event in her career fought hard against Jessica Moore but the Australian concentrated better and won 64 75.

Last year's quali finalist Réka Jani lost 62 62 to Serbian Krunic and the Hungarian Fed Cup player Zsófia Susányi couldn't win either, she lost 64 26 62 to Slovkian Pochabova.

The battle of the two wild card players, Blanka Szávay and Viktoria Golubic was won by the latter but the most exciting match was 8th seeded Croatian Mijacika's, who came back from 2-5 down in the third set and won the match in tie-break against Brazilian Alves.

1st seeded Pivovarova had an easy win just like 5th seeded Tsurenko and 2nd seeded Ondraskova but former semifinalist Daniilidou, 7th seeded Evtimova, 3rd seeded Iriyogen and 6th seeded Chakhnashvili eliminated in the first round
