| 15 years on the Tour |

It's the 15th year that the Hungarian capital organises a WTA tour event and there were several top players who perticiapted the tournament. This year will see one of the strongest field, but in the past years quality tennis was insured by players like Jana Novotna, Ruxandra Dragomir, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Amanda Coetzer, Magdalena Maleeva, Maria Kirilenko, Jelena Jankovic, Marion Bartoli, Samantha Stosour, Patty Schnyder stc. The tournament gives opportunity for Hungarian players also to get WTA points and most of the outstanding Hungarians like Andrea Temesvari, Petra Mandula, Zsofia Gubacsi, Kyra Nagy, Aniko Kapros, Katalin Marosi and Agnes Szavay took part of the competition in the last years. This year GDF SUEZ Grand Prix welcomes Dominika Cibulkova, Alisa Kleybanova, Alexandra Dulgheru, Sara errani, Timea Bacsinszky, Andrea Petkovic, Anabel Medina Garrigues and of course the top Hungarian player, Agnes Szavay, who tries to defend her title from last year. |
